BTS to Kick off The Conference Board
Leadership Development Conference
New York, NY and San Diego, May 4, 2010 – BTS USA, the global leader in
accelerating strategy alignment and execution,
announces that BTS Managing Director Jim Bowles will be
facilitating the opening sessions of The Conference Board's 2010 Leadership and Development Conference:
Developing Agile, Resilient Leaders for a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous (VUCA) World.
The conference will be held twice: May 20-21 at the Marriott Marquis in New York, NY and June 10-11 at
the Coronado Island Marriott in San Diego, Calif.
The military coined the phrase "VUCA World", which stands for volatile, uncertain,
complex and ambiguous, which aptly describes the current state of the corporate world. To manage in this
difficult environment, business leaders must be certain of their roles in creating and driving the agility
and adaptability that organizations need to be successful. Leadership Agility in a VUCA World, the
conference's opening session, is designed to reinforce the interactive nature of the conference through
the exploration of multiple, research driven "touch points" which have been found to be associated with
driving organizational and leadership agility. Jim Bowles, director of BTS USA’s leadership and management
practice, will facilitate this interactive session which, explores the conceptual framework that defines the
"Agile Leader."
